The guitar’s neck, heel, bridge, top, back and sides are examined for stability, cracks, damage or past repairs.

Finish, wear, and any touch-ups are noted honestly, so you know exactly what you're getting. Each guitar is cleaned and polished prior to sale, ensuring it’s presented at its best while retaining its honest patina.

Internal bracing and joints are checked for rattles, separation or past repairs that should be noted or further addressed.

Fret levelness is checked in multiple places on each fret across the entire fingerboard to ensure there are no high frets that will cause certain notes to buzz or choke out. Any problem frets are re-seated, re-glued or re-levelled as appropriate. Fret ends are inspected for sharpness or gaps.

The overall neck relief is assessed, and the frets are cleaned and polished.

Saddle height is checked and adjusted to ensure optimal action for both playability and tone. This is where a lot of an instrument's true voice comes out: proper string height and saddle geometry ensure the most efficient transfer of energy from the strings to the top, making the guitar notably louder and richer-sounding.

The nut slots are inspected and adjusted where necessary to ensure optimal action in the lower registers, and to ensure the strings do not bind when tuning or disturb the windings on the bass strings.

The maker, model details, and build history of each guitar are researched and documented to ensure you know exactly what you’re buying and are paying fair market value for the instrument.
